THE CLIENT

Maki Kosaka, a casual hand roll sushi restaurant created by the Michelin-starred Kosaka, sought to establish a strong social media presence for their new concept opening during the pandemic. They approached Honest Media to develop their digital identity and content strategy.

THE RESULT

As lead designer, I expanded Maki Kosaka's brand identity with hand-drawn illustrations, custom patterns, and a comprehensive style guide. These elements were used to create engaging content for their social media channels. The visual language we developed balanced the restaurant's connection to its upscale sister establishment while emphasizing its more approachable concept. Our work included elegant illustrations of ingredients, sushi details, and plating, as well as minimal Japanese-inspired patterns. This cohesive approach effectively communicated Maki Kosaka's unique offering of high-quality, innovative sushi in an accessible format, supporting the restaurant's launch and growth during challenging times.
